From Foz do Iguacu, we got a flight to Santiago de Chile, via Montevideo, on December 26th. We arrived at our hostel at around 11 pm.. And because we had spent all day waiting and sitting, we walked around a bit in the city.
We saw and walked around in Cerro Santa Lucia, a park on a hill in the city.
Then we walked along the river to the fish market and continued on the other side of the river to another market. The first part we saw was mostly selling vegetables, fruit and juices. A bit further, you could buy clothes and outside it was a kind of flea market where everyone sold whatever he had.
Afterwards, we went to Cerro San Cristóbal and took the funicular up the mountain and continued walking around a bit up there. Unfortunately, the cable car didn’t work that day so we went back down soon.
The next day (it takes place every other day) we saw the changing of the guards in front of the Palace La Moneda.
